Localization with subdomains

It seems to me (I am pretty sure I have already read this in Google documentation) the best way for language localization (so that it is very clear to the search engine) is to move the language particle to the beginning, creating a subdoman. Like this: en.mywebsiteurl.com/page and this es.mywebsiteurl.com/page and this pt.mywebsiteurl.com/page. Is it possible to accomplish this with Localization Extensions so that instead of mywebsiteurl.com/en/page I can use en.mywebsiteurl.com/page? The problem is I don't want this: en.mywebsiteurl.com/en/page that would repeat the "en" particle... Thank you.

Re: Localization with subdomains

Hi,

Different subdomains by language is not currently supported by LE.

I'd like to see some references that this is the best approach in terms of SEO. From my knowledge in SEO:

- every link to your website counts as a vote and highers your pagerank

Therefore, having both languages on the same domain, with sub urls for languages, should get more votes for your domain. Using a subdomain with language would isolate the votes for each site.

I am not an expert in SEO, if you have expertise that this is incorrect, let us know and we will adjust.
